2023 Scholarship Winners Announced

Today, we are excited to announce the 2023 Pete Ackerman Memorial Scholarship winners. Congratulations go out to Baaba Desouza and Evelyn Scheffler. These two young women exemplified leadership and community involvement outside of school-sponsored activities.
Baaba is a 2023 graduate of Shakopee High School and plans to pursue a double major in Political Science and Sociology at Hampton University in Virginia this fall. Ultimately, Baaba plans to attend law school and enter into politics.
Evelyn is part of the 2023 graduating class from Kenyon – Wanamingo High School. She will be attending South Dakota State University majoring in Dairy Production and minoring in Agricultural Communications. Growing up on a dairy farm instilled an enthusiasm for the dairy industry and she wants to work with dairy farmers through a sales, nutrition, or consulting role.
Plymold annually awards scholarships to graduating seniors. This year, we renamed our scholarship after our dear friend Pete Ackerman, COO and longtime employee-owner who passed away suddenly in 2021. He was a leader at Plymold, and he believed that giving back was an important part of living and working in a local community. We wanted to carry on his spirit by helping future leaders continue the cycle of giving back to their communities.
